Development Plan:

Each Planning authority is required, under the Planning & Development Act, 2000 to review its development plan every 6 years; this review is to commence 4 years after the adoption of the previous plan to allow full consultation and consideration of all of the issues involved.

In April, 2004, Cobh Town Council commenced the process of reviewing the Cobh Development Plan, 2000. In October 2004, a Draft Development Plan, which had been prepared by members of the staff of the County Council’s County Architect’s Department, was presented to the members of Cobh Town Council for consideration. This Draft Plan was made available for public inspection until 28 January, 2005. All submissions from members of the public were examined in full and considered by the members of the Council. Following this process, the Cobh Development Plan, 2005 was adopted on 30 May, 2005.
